Our pets are so fascinating to watch. They seem to possess so much natural life and energy, and one thing that you will notice is how present they are everyday.
If they experience stress or agitation or fear, they are so quick to shake it off (often with a very literal shake), and quickly be ready to play, explore and prance happily off to the next adventure. But one thing that makes humans separate from other animals is the vast amount of time we spend not in the present, but in the past and future. As a certified mindset hypnotist in the Philadelphia and King of Prussia areas and online, I know that our human obsession with the past - and especially past mistakes and pain - is so often the thief of our power and happiness. I want to ask you a question. Does the past even exist? I mean, we can't go there. We can't change anything or create anything from that place. What we call the past is essentially an interpretation of how we experience time and space on this planet. It is more of a collective idea than an actual thing or place. And yet, we give it YEARS of energy, and this so often rewards us with YEARS of negative, corrosive, destructive emotions such as anger, self-loathing, fear, guilt and despair. This happens to all of us. Story time. I made a mistake recently, and found myself spiraling down to increasingly negative feelings as I relived the mistake over and over again. When you run your own business, you wear a lot of hats and spin a lot of plates. At the end of this summer, it will be my third year doing what I do. For 98% of those 3 years, I've been juggling administrative balls expertly. But recently I dropped a couple balls, and I missed two of my consultation calls. Technically the first wasn't my fault as it was a technological glitch. But the second one definitely was. I just literally got distracted with work and it completely slipped my mind. I simply screwed up. No excuses, no crazy explanation. I had a human moment and fell on my face. I lost the opportunity to connect, and I potentially destroyed the referral relationship as well. Yep. I've been beating up myself a lot ever since. It was such a dumb mistake, and it cost me. I also really, really hate letting people down. I've replayed that moment a hundred times in my head. I've since made a change to prevent this even more moving forward, but that didn't make me feel any better. And of course it didn't stop there. My clever mind also brought up ALL the other times from my past where I made mistakes, screwed up, fell flat on my face and embarrassed myself. So I started feeling even WORSE. I finally realized what was happening and asked myself… What is the point of all of this?? Why am I feeding all of this energy into the past?? What purpose is this fulfilling and why am I doing it?? ALL of the things that we want to feel about our lives - and it's ALWAYS desired feelings that drive us - can only be felt NOW. In the present. And when we are feeling the opposite - feeling bad - we can't feel the things that we want to feel. We must choose one or the other. Now negative feelings do have use and they are natural, and we must never discount the very real and painful wrongs, betrayals, abandonments and violations that were done to us. But when the more we dwell there, the more we feed them. We give them more and more power. They get stronger, and hungrier and bigger. And then they start stealing from our time and power and these are two of our most precious resources that we have on this planet. There comes a time when we have to say, "NO. You get no more." Understanding the Power of the Present Before delving into how hypnosis can assist you in releasing the past, let's briefly touch upon the significance of living in the present moment. The present is where life unfolds, where opportunities arise, and where happiness can be experienced. It is the only time we have real control over our actions and decisions. Yet, we often get entangled in the cobwebs of our past experiences, unable to fully embrace the present. The past can hold us back in various ways - replaying painful memories, nurturing regrets, or fostering negative emotions. The more we dwell on the past, the harder it becomes to live in the now and create the life we truly desire. Hypnosis offers a way to address these issues at their core, helping us let go of the past and regain control of our present reality. So when you find yourself stuck and reliving past mistakes and pass wrongs and past pain over and over and over again, you've got to: 1. Come back into the present. Snap back into the only real time, the only time that is real, by telling yourself " I am here NOW. I can't change that, but I can change things NOW. I can make things better NOW." 2. Decide what you want to feel instead. Peace? Power? Confidence? 3. Say, " What thought can I think right now to give me THAT feeling? " With practice, this pattern interrupt can change your life. The next time you watch your pet, make sure you take a page from their playbook and shake off the past more often and stay more present every day. Understanding Hypnosis Hypnosis is a powerful therapeutic technique that taps into the subconscious mind to bring about positive changes in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Contrary to popular misconceptions, hypnosis is not about losing control or being in a trance-like state. Instead, it is a heightened state of focus and relaxation where the hypnotist guides the client to access their inner resources for personal growth and healing. During a hypnosis session, the hypnotist uses various techniques to induce a trance-like state, enabling the client to bypass their critical conscious mind and access the subconscious. In this receptive state, the hypnotist can help the client explore the root causes of past traumas, negative thought patterns, and emotional blockages. By addressing these issues at their source, hypnosis empowers individuals to release the past's hold on their lives. Letting Go of the Past with Hypnosis Hypnosis allows individuals to reframe their perceptions and responses to past events. It helps in acknowledging the past's impact while disassociating from its emotional burden. Through this process, one can free themselves from the grip of negative emotions and memories that hinder personal growth and happiness. Identifying and Resolving Traumatic Experiences Traumatic experiences from the past can create deep emotional wounds that continue to influence our lives in the present. Hypnosis can help individuals access these buried memories and work through them in a safe and supportive environment. By reframing the perception of these events, individuals can find healing and release the emotional weight they've been carrying. Letting Go of Regrets and Guilt Regrets and guilt over past decisions can be a significant obstacle to living in the present. Hypnosis can help you explore the root causes of these feelings and assist you in forgiving yourself and moving forward. This process empowers you to make peace with your past and embrace a more positive outlook on life. Breaking Negative Thought Patterns Thoughts and beliefs formed in response to past experiences can shape our self-perception and behaviors. Hypnosis can help identify negative thought patterns and replace them with positive affirmations and empowering beliefs. As a result, you'll experience a shift in mindset that supports your journey towards letting go of the past. Would You Like to Find Out More?
